Landowner Programs

Animal Damage Control Program

The Animal Damage Control program (ADCP) works to develop effective and socially acceptable animal damage management tools for its participating landowners. This is a self-supporting program open to Western Washington landowners. Participants include WFPA members, city, state and tribal entities.

The focus of this program is on bear research and minimizing black bear damage to conifers, though other animal damage forestry issues are addressed. This program is supported by the Animal Damage Control Program Committee -- comprised primarily of company foresters from ADCP program participants. This committee evaluates and advises on management and policy issues related to Animal Damage Control activities on Western Washington timberlands.

For information on joining the ADCP, contact Georg Ziegltrum.

Tree Farm Program

WFPA is the statewide sponsor and coordinator of the American Tree Farm System (ATFS), promoting the sustainable management of forests through education and outreach for private forest landowners. Through this program, small landowners can receive certification in recognition of their resource stewardship and sustainable forest practices.

This program is supported by the Tree Farm Program Committee --comprised of program participants elected through Tree Farm Program processes. This committee monitors and evaluates management and policy issues related to the Tree Farm Program, and assists in coordinating the Washington program with the national American Tree Farm System.

For inquiries about ATFS certification, contact Georg Ziegltrum.
